I recently received a large Micarta Insingo via trade, and realized while driving and fondling it this evening that the handle is smooth. I have a small Micarta Insingo that is bead blasted, and a small Insingo without inlays that I scotch brited. The newer large has the scotch brited feel, but I know that can't be because it was offered for trade as mint.
I searched the forum and looked around at all the usual online retailers, and all I can find are bead blasted Micarta Insingos. Has anyone ever purchased one new without the bead blasted finish, or was this knife not quite as mint as advertised?
I actually prefer the smoother finish over the bead blasted finish, not complaining about that. I'm just curious as to whether "mint" now includes mods like scotch briting.
