Steve you could have that blade stripped of its chrome if you wished. Any good plating place would be able to do it. If it is indeed chrome plating it will have a layer of copper plating beneath it. That's the correct way of chrome plating something anyway.
It may be a different plating than chrome on it. I have an old Mossberg 20 guage I had Cadmium plated about 40 years ago. It's mounted on an old military stock and is my throw on the bottom of the boat gun.:D

It does have copper under the chrome, as is proper. The chrome and copper that are left don't hurt the function, but don't look that great. If it doesn't sell, I make try a plater. Thanks for the suggestion!
