Non-Metal Knives

Recently, in a trade, I acquired an Obex Design Raven. Not much info on the net regarding this knife. It is a carbon fiber-ceramic knife (I think) and very sharp. Still I can't help but wonder how one properly cares for and sharpens this knife.

If anyone has any info along these lines, whether it's about the knife itself or just how to care for knives of this type, please tell me anything you can.

Much appreciated!

I am not familiar with the knife you mention, but non-metal knives come in many forms, and many of them actually contain enough metal to trigger detectors (for what that is worth).

Ceramic knives have not really occupied a large place in the knife world (in my opinion) because they tend to over-promise and under deliver.

Ceramic can be sharpened with abrasives harder than the ceramic. However, a relatively small subset of service providers will work on them for varioius reasons.

Often times non-metalic knives amount to high-priced tactical novelties (in my opinion). Proper care an maintenance often either includes storage in a safe or display case....or ditching after an illegal activity (in either case, there really is no special care;))
