Ok folks, I really need some good ol' fashioned input as I just picked up an oldie but a goodie and I have NO idea what to expect. I was lucky enough to find a non-serrated Titanium Spyderco Salsa. Just the look of it seemed appealing to me. The four finger grooves, the locking system, blade steel, everything. Also, does anyone know what year this little beauty was made and/or discontinued. I don't know what a "good" price is for one but I got a mint NIB version for $125.00 plus shipping. Seems a bit steep but I have never had the opportunity at a Ti one before. Sure, I have seem the G-10 versions but the Ti is what really got me interested. I'm like a moth to a flashlight when it comes to titanium and the knife just looked cool.
Plus the ats-34 blade steel is a Sebenza classic, which I love. Well, any input would be much appreciated as I I really do not know what to expect but it looks like a really cool piece and, hey, it's titanium. Thanks all for your input/expertise.

I don't beleive there was ever a version of the Salsa with G10. Most were all with aluminum scales and nested liner version of the Compression lock. The titanium one has an integrated frame version of the Compression lock, similar to ATR.

The Cobra Hood is kind of a cool little feature, too.

The detent on my black alu. version is so strong that it is nearly unflickable. Maybe ti version is a bit smoother...?

I've seen one pop up on the exchange a month or so ago, but not NIB.

Post up some photos when you receive it!

I promise I will post pics when it arrives. It has to travel a looooong ways. Pics soon to come.

Thanks so much for the link BOHANG. I'm super stoked to be getting it in now. Honestly, I picked it up because it was titanium and a spyderco, and I love both things. I knew it was old by the box but I didn't know how old. The video has be really excited to get it in. Now I just have to decide if its a user or a safe queen. Thanks so much and pics will be on the way probably within a week.
* And sorry, I meant to write aluminum, not G-10. As you said, there was never a G-10 version. Thanks for setting me straight on that.

For a NIB plain edge titanium salsa, $125 sounds like an outstanding deal to me.

I completely agree with the what "Supmonkeyface" just said>> because it is so far ahead of all the other Salsa models. Because if you sold one on any of the popular auction sites I'll bet you'll get more money than that without even trying hard. I would be willing to bet that you could easily sell one here on BF Exchange for $150 easily. I've said for years if I ever get another Salsa model the only two models I'm interested in is the Titanium model and the cranberry colored model. I would only want the Cranberry model because I just love that color and it still blows my mind what the Cranberry LUm model just sold for.

The Titanium Salsa is the only one that has ATS-34 steel and the locking system on it seems to work much better than any of the other Salsa models I've owned in the past. The Titanium model has a natural grippy feel to it like none of the other Salsa models do. It's one of my biggest regrets selling the one I had :(.

And in the long run the Titanium Salsa I have no doubt will acrue much more value over time than any of the others.
