Non-Slip Finish Suggestions?

I note that most of the posts here are regarding sharpening discussions and questions but note that this area is also supposed to include knife enhancements and modifications.

Any suggestions for a non-slip finish that can be applied to the Kershaw Ken Onion design knives with smooth stainless steel or aluminum handles such as the Chive, Shallot, Scallion and Leek models? I like the design and the thinness they offer for handy pocket carry but find the slickness of the handles annoying. With the rubber inserts the Kershaw Blur is much better from the grip security point but it is on the large size and thicker than the others.

I have done two different things, both involved making scales with G10. I have made a scale that will completely replace one side of a framelock, offering nice traction and at the same time making the knife substantially lighter.

The other thing I have done is make a "presentation scale" that sits on top of one side of the framelock. I have it attached using the pocket clip holes to try to minimize screws on that face.

Replacing one side of the knife will not make it thicker, adding a scale on top of one side will obviously make the knife thicker.
