For those of you who trek through the woods with your knife on your belt, the link below points to a tutorial I posted a few years ago. It shows how to make a lanyard loop that does not snag on branches when adjusted correctly. Some of the pictures may have disappeared from the thread, but the critical ones are still in place.

It is the lanyard loop that was shown in my recent NMSkunkFNO thread. The non-snagging nature of the loop, its easy adjustability, and minimal component count & expense makes it a quick and versatile addition to my Busse blades.

Thanks RokJok, I've used your tutorial thread a couple times for sliding knife lanyard loops and they work great.
 
Hey, thanks for this tutorial. I was interested in making a lanyard, but had some worries about snags. I do a lot of portaging with canoes and packs. So the last thing I want while working through an overgrown path is getting my knife snagged on a branch.
