Non-standard FBM options?

I just got a hold of a mint FBM, its CG I guess, probably .25 and is not corrugated. It looks and feels as awesome as any standard FBM.

Now, it definitely has some factory customization. For one, it is Moss Green which is a color I only see on Swamp Rats. Second, it has about 3" of serrations which extend from the grip side of the blade. These are just standard serrations like on any other standard knife, they are not "nuclear" or whatever cute term is used :). And third, the tip is definitely a penetrator. Its wicked, but given its perfection, it was performed by the Busse factory. It came with a really cool sheath, but that is not the point of this post.

So, my questions are:

1. If restoration is necessary down the line, can Moss Green be applied to a Busse? Or was this some sort of out-of-left-field-one-off?

2. I am not a fan of serrations, not so much on their usability, but their asymmetrical appearance. If I decide to have the blade restored at a later date, can the serrations be recreated with symmetrical grinds on both sides? I know that will take some more of the blade away, but I expect to have them pretty beat down by then anyway.

You got that at a great deal, much less then the original owner paid for it
It came out of knob creek fall 2011 show. There were probably 20-25 serrated fbms give or take like that, many different flavors, dont recall seeing any others in that scheme. Pretty sure .27 and not .25 but could be wrong. Good grab.

Yup ^^ If I recall right this is all correct.

The sheath looks like Semper Paratus, but I'm no expert, just looks like their styling.

If you're gonna use it, to hell with the coating. Beat the hell out of it, then ghetto satin the beast :D If the serrations don't float your boat, send it in and have a slight recurve put on it or have the blade "leafed" out a bit.

Overall, it's one beastly knife

I'll get the calipers out later, my garage is 100+ degrees at night because this is Texas and its never cold anymore. It may be .27, I am just so use to seeing .25....unless all of mine have been .27, damnit, I need those calipers!!

I paid $582 for it, so yeah, I was VERY surprised I walked away with it for that much in unused condition. I remember this exact one from the same seller being listed at $800 awhile back and the guy pulled it down.

The sheath is "Semper Paratus", you are correct and the inner hard plastic mold has been molded for the FBM specifically. I never heard of this company, but this seems like a nice sheath with a lot of options.

No ghetto satin for me :) I have several FBM's now, I don't need to beat it down that bad. I love the way it looks with the Moss Green, this one may remain a queen. I was thinking of having grinding the serrations away and giving it a leaf style blade shape. Dunno yet, but the thought did cross my mind.

Thanks for all the replies!!

Yeah, Eric knows more about my purchases than I do :)

Eric is a stalker of all forums and buying sites. He has a spreadsheet of every Busse made and who the last 7 owners of the particular knife was.

Guy's got dedication.
