A non-T.A.D. version of an all-black ZT0300 has surfaced in a couple of places. There's one for sale here on bladeforums...this one is incorrectly described as a ZT 300 Carbon Fiber in the thread subject, although in the description the correct G10 handle material is listed. The blade is the standard 0301/0302 grind, not the Battle Swedge grind done for T.A.D., and is DLC black.

Another is available on evil bay...

The actual model number from the box isn't listed for either, but the blade shows 0300 and is production-numbered like the 0301 and 0302.

Anyone know anything about these? I assume they're legit (update: they are per Thomas)...did I just miss previous mention of these?

Ray :)

Edit: The one for sale on bladeforums is no longer marked Carbon Fiber, the handle is indeed black G10 and Ti, and the model # is apparently just ZT0300. I haven't found an online retailer with these yet, but I'm sure they're out there.

Oooooooooooo...

Sorry. That was my wallet groaning. I might have to get one of these, if they are truly going to be available without the silly tiger stripes.

Same here. I bought a TAD Gear ZT0300 Carbon Fiber version a week ago. I am extremely happy with it, my first ZT, but would have waited. Oh, well, now I'll just have to buy another one. As the saying goes, "One is none, two is one."

reholli, these black DLC blades are regular production as of recently. All will have black G-10 scales.

Tiger stripes will continue as regular production as well.

hey i would take one with a tiger striped blade just cause its cool imo. all black is cool too :D

Thanks, Thomas...appreciate the info. These will make many out there happy...;)

Thomas, will the ZT0301 and 0302 ever be available as regular production pices with satin finish or glass bead blast blades? They would be fantastic (and the margins would be better since you wouldn't have to pay for the DLC coating)

Thanks for the answer Thomas - I appreciate it. I guess TAD gear will be getting another $295 from me!
