So,

I was checking out a thread in the Strider Forum, here;
http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum63/HTML/000017-2.html

And I see this knife on a taiwanese knife magazine.

And it gets me thinking....

What all knife magazines are there out there in the rest of the world?

Or other magazines that have regular knife content?

Can an American subscribe to them?

Hi MDP,
That's not a taiwanese knife magazine.
Actually it's a Japanese "KNIFE" magazine .
We don't have Chinese knife magazine right now.

MDP,
I have seen a couple of Japanese knife mags.
They use extra-high resolution cameras and slick, premium grade paper. The pictures are unreal in quality. My Bro-in-law has one and I will find out if there is a US subscription service listed. It would be for pics only, unless you read Japanese!

Guys,

You can get yearly subscriptions for Knife if you go to Kinokuniya Bookstores. There is one in every major city in Asia and US. I am sure Europe too ????. They cost about $16 per issue and I think 12/year. In NYC there is one at Rockefeller Center. Email me and I will see if I can find the number for you guys. Later.

While I was hanging out at the Emerson booth at the Atlanta Blade show, a guy walked up with a copy of a Hungarian (I believe) knife magazine. I just got to flip through it real quick, but the quality was as good as "Knife".

I was recently lucky enough to pick up a copy of "Knife", "Arms" and "Combat". All similar quality magazines produced in Japan. Arms and Combat are "gun" magazines. They feature articles on some real guns and are real heavy on those Airsoft guns.

Wish we could get comparable quality magazines here.

Hi MDP- As everyone has said, the Japanese magazine is quite nice(good for me also as I'm studying Japanese). AncientSUL is right on about the store Kinokuniya, they may have a service where they send it to you bi-monthly. There is another great store in NYC called "Asahiya", you can try them also. I've put both phone numbers and also a photo of the cover of the latest issue, so you can see what it's like. Donald.

Dude ~ No indegenous knife magazines published either in Malay, Chinese, Tamil or English in this Region. We get Blade, Tactical Knives and once in a blue-moon : Knives Illustrated... I do write about knives in my outdoor column on a regular basis!

I know that there is a nice magazine in France called: Passion des Couteaux, roughly translated: paasion for knives. It seems to focus more on the 'art' aspect of knifemaking, although it does not exclusively focus on 'art knives'. Nice pictures though.

In France, we have two great knife magazines
First (and older) is "La passion des couteaux" (Passion for knives), it is mainly art and custom knives oriented.
Second, "Excalibur" which in fact I prefer.
It is a really great knife magazine dealing with latest designs and products from major companies as well as custom knife makers...
