I got this from my friend Tim Zowada awhile back….steel smelted from the ‘black sand’ on the shores of Lake Michigan, an ancient ivory spacer, glorious wenge wood with a phosphor bronze adjustable pivot….the ONLY blade that ever ‘tree-topped’ hair from my arm.

Tim was one of the makers I lusted after in my early years of collecting. Unfortunately his work is so hard to find.
He had a way of forging damascus that gave the steel pattern a wonderful patina that very few forgers can match today.
