Heya. I wanted to know the difference between the regular RC-3 and the Mil. A friend of mine became a firefighter not too long ago, and I'd like to get him a RAT and some kind of folder to go along with it. RC-3 seems like the perfect fixed blade.

That is kind of you.

Quoting from the RAT Cutlery website, the RC-3 Mil has "Canvas Micarta handles and a sharpened glass breaker on the pommel." Other than that, I believe it is the same as the regular RC-3. The specs are provided on www.ratcutlery.com.

The regular RC-3 also looks like it has a glass breaker. Am I correct to assume the difference is that the RC-3 glass breaker isn't sharpened?

I tried to figure out what the heck is what and order my RC-3 last night but couldn't figure things out with this knife and the combos.

I went to the thread that was recommended above and see this picture and descriptions. IMHO there should be a "what's included / colors of everything" next to each one or "options."

Every website has different descriptions and images and I was pulling my hair out.

I wanted the RC-3 in the upper left corner (plain edge & glass breaker) but want a black blade, not sure what color the Macarta is available or what sheath options either. I don't want a round pommel, or the waxy yellow sheaths - but a green one like my black Izula has.

With all due respect would someone please PM me where to get what I want.

Thanks,

OOPS - Take that back. I can't find it anywhere except one store named after a type of cracker but it has a waxy color sheath - can't abide that....arrrgh!

Throws himself on the floor and pounds hands and feet!
