Sorry for another noob question. So let's say I get a little too grind happy and get that wee little brown spot on the edge of my blade. Now mind you I've already heat treated and tempered my blade and I'm putting the finishing bevel on. I've already got the edge too thin I believe to re heat and temper again without major warpage, but a quick swipe on each side and a run on the edge with the contact wheel grinds the spot away pretty quick. Technically that spot is gone that was weakened, am I all good?

Not really, the spot that got too hot is still "there" you just removed the surface layer of oxides. That's said, a brown temper color isn't the end of the world, that spot will just be softer.

Test it using a brass rod. Sometimes it is fast enough that you don't lose to much hardness and sometimes your knife needs to get smaller. Temper is a combination of both heat and time so extremely small amounts of time might not kill you. You can look up how to do a brass rod test. You flex the edge and see how it acts. You also might try carving the rod as well and see if there is a difference in edge retention.
