Hey guys, while I am not a noob to most knives I am a total noob when it comes to others.

So, here I am for a while now looking at various threads and more and more I see "XM-18" here and "XM-18" there. Well... after I saw pictures of the damn knife I was in love.

I am a small guys and tend to prefer smaller knives. So my question is, is there a version of the XM-18 that is "small". Maybe spyderco delica size. I see alot of XM-18 3.5, or flipper, or non flipper, etc. I figured "flipper" means exactly what it is and its a flipper to propel the blade.

I am sure I am leaving some of my questions out but I am sure you guys can help me down the line.

Thanks, Chris

BTW: For whatever it is I think the back(frame lock side) of this knife is the most sexist/coolest/uber(yes uber)/ kick effing ass I have ever seen.

Sounds to me like a 3 inch XM-18 would work for you. You got the "flipper" part right. XM-18's come in 2 different version. "non-flipper" where the blade opens by using the thumbstuds. Then you have the "flipper" where the blade is opened with the assistance of the "flipper" by applying downward pressure which forces the blade open. The "flipper" version also has thumbstuds and can also be opened using that method. Pretty awesome feature.

Now I'll get into the biggest problem there is with buying a Hinderer. Once you buy ONE. You're hooked. You'll soon have 2 then 3 then 6. Be careful!!!!

Ask all the questions you need to man. You'll get a lot of answers.

Good luck.

Thanks Rick. After some more searching it seems like the 3inch would be the ideal size for me.

Man, I could sit here all day looking at pictures of these suckers!
Then with the different scale colors... o god.

No problem. There are few 3 inchers up for sale now. :D

3" is a very good size. The xm-18 3" still feels bombproof, even though it's relatively small. I love it.

Somebody say 3''.

3" blade, non flipper will be my recommendation. bonus - the spanto grind looks better on the 3" as well :)
