I'm new to working with leather, and have a question.

I have used Angelus leather deglazer, and dye to change the color of my Falkniven Bowie sheath. I forgot to order anything to "seal" or pollish it with. There aren't any leather specialty shops around when I live, so I stopped at Foot Locker and got some "leather lube" says it conditions and protects.

I expect this may not be the BEST choice, but is there any reason this would not work?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I am not familiar with that product, but from the name I would guess would guess it contains some oil of some kind. It will probably be just fine, but I would caution you to apply it very sparingly, and work it into the leather really well. SPARINGLY, be sure you got that part.....light coat application.....just a little at a time etc. Then buff with something like an old T shirt,, then buff some more. That should do it. Repeat in a few days only if you think it must have more.

Thanks, I tried a little and the conditioner seems to be OK.

I notice that the new stain color still comes off on my rag quite a bit, guessing I should just keep buffing untill no more dye color is rubbing off? ...It is normal for it to keep coming off for while right?

Yes, it is normal, and that's why I said buff......and then buff some more. Even though it feels dry to the touch it is still "wet" and will be for a couple of days. After it penetrates completely and "dries", buff lightly one last time and that's it.
