Hi Everyone, I just found this forum and I was wondering if anyone had any information about this knife I have, I tried searching but came up with nothing really, anyway. It's a SCHRADE the handle is orange and has LIMITED EDITION on it, On the blade itself it says SCHRADE U.S.A 150T, is this a "good" knife? Thanks

It would help to see a picture, but from your description, I think it is a 15OTO which was a special order for Smoky Mountain Knife Works. While some folks are put off by the brightly colored orange handle, it is an excellent knife. Likely made from 1095HC high carbon steel with nickle silver rivets and shield.

In 1991, another special issue, the 15DH knife with hunter orange handle and "LIMITED EDITION" shield was commissioned by Smokey Mountain Knife Works for inclusion in their "father and son" hunting sets with the 152SM "LIMITED EDITION" Sharpfinger, and also a later an orange handled 158OT with an Old Timer shield. There were 3,000 of the 15DH produced, and also 3,000 of the first production of the 152SM.
Here is the link to my research on this pattern:

FourtyOz,
Welcome to the Schrade Forum.
You have a really nice knife. It is, IMHO, a classic Schrade pattern.

cool, im going to have to look around and get some more knifes. Why did Scharde go out of buisness BTW?

FourtyOz,
Why Schrade went out of business has been discussed since it happened. There were many reasons from the change in society to international trade and then to management of the company. Do a quick search of the threads in this area and I'm sure you will find many many discussions. Sad to say, it looks like Camillus is currently following a similar path.

As for getting more Schrades...
Check out our web site at
