Hi all and congrats to an amazing site! I have been reading on here for about 3 weeks. This place is sweet! I am wanting to buy my first couple of quality knives. I want them to look good as well as be great quality. I have some ideas but would like to hear some suggestions as well as see some of your own. Including customs.

Here is some examples of what i am talking about.
1 Tops b.e.s.t. and tops desert son
2 Strider MH and SA
3 knives of alaska bush camp and cub bear.

i am looking for a large knife that is 7"or less and the small knife to have an overall lenth of LESS than 8"

thanks in advance...i hope i get some feedback.

Welcome to BFC! :) You will probably get some good suggestions if you can give us a price range you're considering.

I think the benchmade Nimravus is 8 or a tiny bit longer. Sweet knife, plan to get one in D2 myself. If you're a spender BUSSE is offering the badger attack tac. It is 10.75 overall, but you won't find a better knife. I also like the bushcamp design by knives of alaska, but I have talked to a few people and they said durability-wise it wasn't what they expected. I would assume it'd be a great slicer, but anything beyond that, chopping and prying I wouldn't even try. If you don't have the money for a busse check out SwampRat and ScrapYard knives, they're awesome and tough as nails.

Hope this helps.

what are some models of small busse's? where can i see pics of the different names and models of them too?

go to the busse forum for more info, but heres some small ones:

mean streets, meaner streets, active duty, game warden, basic 3, badger.

badgers are currently available for order on bussecombat.com. the others are available on the exchange.

You have a lot of knives to choose from. I don't know how much you want to pay, but here are my suggestions: Ontario RAT-7, Ka-Bar, Camillus, or Ontario Marine Combat, Chris Reeve Green Beret, Ka-Bar in D2 or Next Generation in 440, Ranger RD-6 or RD-7, Becker Combat/Utility, Cold Steel Recon Scout. I think the TOPS are good knives, but a bit over priced. Of course, the Chris Reeves knives are expensive, but very well made of the finest steel. I own each of these. My favorite is the RAT-7.
