Figured I would upload some pics of last nights chop fest while you all wait for the pics from Jerry. I have a bunch of videos of the chopping that I will upload later. We got to try out Bans NMFBM. It performed as expected. It was Solstice, Ban, Tiny, Mr Pink and myself that attended. The green wood you see is a Eucalyptus sapling that I chopped down for us to chop. Ban and Tiny ended up making spears out of it. Enjoy the pics and look for the videos later tonight.

Great pictures Nor Cal. I'm still waiting on my NMFBM before going to a chop fest. I have a friend in San Fran who wants me to visit whenever so I have a place to stay:D BTW the Banned Skinny Ash you sold me is simply amazing. You were not kidding about it being stupid sharp. Ban must think people intend to slice through Space/Time Fabric when he convexs a Busse. Mine is sharper then my Mora Utility knife and both are hair popping sharp. The Ash just pops the hairs off my hand in one swipe:eek: Other then an obligatory purchase on my visit to Smoky Mountain Knife Works last week I haven't bought much except an Opinel and a Mora (I bought the NMFBM's before I bought the Ash so that doesn't count:p). But I'm really satisfied with this knife and only thing now is I could go for a smaller, skinnier slicer. I strongly consider a Leaner Meaner now and again and other similar styled Busses when they show up in the for sale section. I didn't think I would want another large (7-9in) knife as I am just smitten with my Ash; but I can hardly wait to see pictures of the NMFHS later tonight. If my NMFBM's show up this month I will bring my Busses up for a chop fest:D Forget to add I cut my finger while wrapping the Skinny Ash with tape and fitting it inside the liner. It wasn't bad or anything but it was embarrassing as this wasn't the first time I had been caught by my girlfriend with a cut finger/hand while playing with them on the bed. She "voiced" her disapprovement as expected but then was cool enough to finish the job for me and we had it fitted in no time. Her favorite knife in the kitchen now : )

Nice group of INFI! I know you guys must have a blast - can't wait for the videos. :D

man,

why you guys gotta live so far away:confused:;)

:D

Looks like fun:thumbup:

That does look fun, I do my own chop fests but doing them alone are not as fun as it would be with a bunch of peeps.

I can't wait to slice up some pumpkins this month:D You guys should have a special chop fest where everyone brings at least 3 pumpkins or something:p

Tiny is moving to Maryland in a week or two. You can have another chopnut join you next time around ;)

Hey, Ban, how do those Banned NMFBMs chop? Notably better than similarly treated FFBMs/CGFBMs et al?

Chop for chop, the NMFBM is definately the best chopper of the bunch  At the same time it is a bit harder to control and is probably ideal or most people who will chop for a short period of time. The convexed CGFBM is still my favorite beater upper knife for extended chopping sessions.

looks like good times. I just can't bring my self to start convexing my fbmle. I just keep thinking of how long it is going to take me to do it by hand, and it is hair popping sharp right now, so maybe I will have to wait till I damage the edge on something, and really have a reason.

I really need to find a group of nuts here in eastern WA, or western ID and get together for some chopping fun.

Thanks, mate, that's pretty much what I wanted to hear. Sometimes the "best" isn't the "best" - like you wouldn't want to use a .50 cal to take down some geese. :D

That sure would be quite fun and entertaining though :D

The NMFBM sets the new standard for chopping power!

Good idea, but it could get messy and start smelling after it's been out for a while.
