I had purchased a couple of Busse knives a while back that I felt weren't quite perfect. I sent them off to Nate (norcalblacktail) and asked him to work his magic. Here are the results.

First knife was already unique in that it is an Active Duty with a Snakeskin Game Warden handle. It had an Arctic White coating which I didn't much care for. I asked Nate to turn the talon hole into a useable finger choil, skeletonize the tang, and give it a satin finish with a convex edge.

Next was the SAR5. I asked Nate to skeletonize the tang, thin out the micarta slabs, and clean up the finish but leave the INFI dimples.

I can't tell you how satisfied I am with the results, I can't put it into words. Now I need some leather!

Skeletonizing the tangs on these knives made all the difference in the world, it really shaved off some serious weight. There's no doubt in my mind that that these knives could still take some serious hard use.

Fantastic work... I'm not quite sure what you mean by "skeletonize the tang"... can you take a pic or two?

The AD mod is great... It reminds me of this one.... I've used this meaner-hack on several whitetail and it's been great.

That AD is seriously one of the absolute best Mods I have ever seen on a Busse!!

Nice!!!!!

Thanks for sharing.

Makes me think I need some professional mods on mine, instead of the ghetto convexing and stripping I do!

Nate is a talented feller, I plan on getting some of mine done when the finances become available. Great looking knives you have there.

Awesome stuff; thanks for sharing. Nate has my M9LE right now to give her some spa treatment; results should be sweet!!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. If anyone is on the fence about sending thier blades to Nate for some work, DO IT! The only regret you'll have is that you didn't do it sooner.
