the nordic knives show is a custom show, and for the most part production makers don't have much production stuff to show. Emersons usually there, so production vs. pure custom has a bit of grey area. for the most part though, it's an all custom.
But with the huge custom content of recent shows, busse could more then fill out a table to two of all custom work were they to show up. they haven't before, and I don't really expect that they would.
The storefront for nordic knives also runs as a mostly custom deal, where there are pure production blades from benchmade and kershaw, and pure customs from the likes of fisk and dozier. they don't really carry production/semi production hard use knives like busse, ranger knives, ferman and tops. they tend to cover the extremes of the spectrum, where there is money to be made from walk in customers, and serious collectors of custom work.
I lived in santa maria growing up, and got to go to 2 of the nordic knives custom shows. if your in solvang, it is well worth stopping by their shop, and the show itself is worth the money just to oggle the custom work. solvang is also a nice town to walk around in, even if you don't have much money. theres a nice book store that has a used/antiquarian section, and several fudge/pastry shops. theres a nice candy shop and a subway, so you can get away with an all day outting for under 20$ in food, but still keep occupied. paula's pancakes is a nice breakfast lunch place that serves great waffles and veggie sandwiches.
