Nordik Circular Saw Blade?

So I just gained access to a bunch of steel but am not sure entirely what it is. They are circular saw blades and the brand is Nordik saws. I was told they have a high nickel content and from some searching around, they may be 15n20 but again, i’m not sure. I’m asking because of limited success in heat treating. I’ve got a couple blades really hard but must won’t pass the file test. Any help would be much appreciated

Give us a bit more info. Blade diameter, thickness, teeth type, model number, etc.
A photo is always helpful, too.

Carbide tipped. I doubt the blade will harden sufficiently. The blade base is some sort of nickel-chromium steel.

Okay, that definitely could be though I have had a couple that actually have gotten quite hard. The file skates and they will mark up glass but, overall, quench success rate has been quite low with this steel. Do you think I’ve run into an anomaly with my hardened blades then?

Hard enough to skate a file and scratch glass isn't a sign of a properly hardened blade. Fine pearlite will skate a file.

I know there are folks who swear by making blades from circular saw blades, but I would suspect the quality is never as good as using proper knife steel. Just because something works, doesn't mean it works good. The only saw blade I ever had any success with was a very old 36" sawmill blade in 1075.
