Currently, the Nordooh knife specs are A2 knife steel.

I was wondering if you people think that with the new S30V steel, that it would be a good substitute for A2 in large knives like the Nordoon.

If Rob reads this, what are you recommending these days ?

Comments welcome,

Chris Reeves uses CPM30V in their Green Beret knife which will be an issue knife for the Spec Ops folks.

I have heard that Strider is using CPM30V now. Won't be able to confirm that until after Blade West :D

I suspect that properly heat treated, CPM30V will be capable of replacing A2 in all but the most specialized applications.

I think it is great the Special Forces did allot of research and put together a high quality knife, using the latest materials.

I am surmizing that CPM S30V is better that A2 because it is stainless steel and will not rust, but has all the good features included in A2 steel.

Perhaps, this knife will end up being better than Mad Dog or Busse knives.

Only time will tell !

Regards,

BB
