I have an old Norlund Hudsons Bay type axe which seems to have a good shape to the edge and blade. does anyone have experience with these?

I have a small one that was given to me several years ago. They were a very fine axe good steel, profile and take a great edge. The one I have is around 11 or 12 inches long with a light head. Great little hatchet.

The older ones were universally respected, on par with older Kelly and Collins axes. Mann Axe of Lewistown, Pa was the trademark holder for many years.

Not the Hudson Bay pattern, but this one is one of my favorites. Found it rusting into obscurity at a flea market. It holds an edge very well and is a great splitter.

Historically, (and keep in mind this is from a young fart) they are regarded as good finds, and carry a great steel. I have a hudson bay but I have not taken it out and used it enough to give any sort of good input on re profiling it. My guess is you'll be happy with it.
