I know I over paid at $40 for it, but I needed a good head to modify to a Forest axe pattern I need for work. I now just need a qualified metalsmith to work on the design and bit slightly.

That is, I'm pretty sure the pattern Norlund called the "camper" axe. It came from the factory with a 21" or so straight haft like a double bit axe or maul would have except with an axe eye. Really nice axe and the head you got looks to be pretty clean. I have one, I'll post some pictures later today.

I agree with FortyTwo. I'd leave it as it is. It's a beauty! I too recently found/purchase a beautiful lil' NORLUND "Saddle Cruiser" Axe/Hatchet Head and I'm trying to find a proper handle. Best of luck with your awesome NORLUND.

Regards,
HARDBALL

I really like the picture of the stamp. That head looks very good. Put a handle on it and start using it.

I originally thought so too, but the top of the head sweeps up on mine and the diagrams of the camper is flat.
