Normal or Limited Edition Badger Attack?

I'm planning on buying my first Busse, probably order later this afternoon, and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on buying the limited edition vs the normal version. I plan to use it for daily use when I'm hiking, it's not going to sit in a safe or anything like that. I usually prefer a thicker blade, which is why I'm thinking about the limited (and I like the Satin finish), but never used this steel before so not sure if it's needed at this point. Thanks.

Dave

Buy one of each. Decide which you like and sell the other one off. If you wait till they're not available anymore, you should be able to recover your costs.

Hey Dave, It sure will fit your needs. As a User I would go with the standard model. Save yourself a buck or 2;)

I would definitely get the LE with the mindset and use you have described. In fact I did... I ordered the LE with the exact same reasoning. Later if you decide you would rather have a CG it's way easier to trade down than move up to the LE.

I was going to say the CG, but Dunner makes a great observation...You can't go wrong though. Both will be awesome users.

If you get the CG, you will have "upgrade syndrome" and forever torment yourself with thoughts of "what if I had gotten that satin finished, thicker blade."

If you get the LE, I doubt you will ever think "I could have had a whole $170 more to buy more crap I don't need."

Hey, it's just money after all, you can always make more.

I Ordered a LE versions and four CGs. If I don't like them I 'm sure I can find someone who will want one in the future.

I just called BC because I forgot what color combos I ordered:o

Now I am thinking I need to get one more just in case I missed out on a combo that have never tried. I Have never had a grey Busse blade and I think it would round out my impending badger collection nicely;)

I ordered LE #95 to go with my #95 FBMLE:thumbup:
a tan/ tan standard handles sterile blade
a green/ black standard handles sterile blade
a tan/ snakeskin
and a black/ snakeskin
what color handle should I get with a grey blade (this one will be a mag)?

I was told mine should be shipping in about "two weeks". I hope they get here before my birthday because my wife has to wrap them:D
May anniversary is the day after my birthday too!! So if the Milganza stuff comes she can wrap my anniversary present to me too;)

(I wanted to get married the day after my birthday so I would always have at least on days warning to get her a present:) . My wife wanted to get married after my birthday because she is a bit older than I am and if I was numerically older she would be happier;) )

Oh yeah... get both and if you must, sell the one you don't like:)

Get the Tan Mags. It's a sweet color combo...

Well, you can use the combat grade until the coating wears off. The LE geometry is different - full height grind, and a bit thicker in the spine vs. partial-height grind in thinner stock on the combat grade. I'd suspect that the LE will be a bit heavier, but not much, and may slice a little better than the CG. Those are just guesses, though, since nobody's handled the actual models outside of the shop people.

I'm getting a CG, and I'm sure it will do well with anything I throw at it. I like the thinner blade, and will spend the extra cash on a top-notch sheath. If you don't mind spending a little more, or using something a little prettier with the "limited" label, then the LE will be fine, too.

Having seen that FBM I am sooooo glad I ordered my Badger tan with grey blade, It'll look great!! Should have got the FBM too... Oh well you live and learn!

Persoanlly, the few times i got the LE and CG (coated, combat grade) I preferred the CG. No worry to use kydex sheath (scratches in LE) , i love watching the finish smoothe out rather than mar when i use em, and the $$ diff makes the CG easier for me to actually end up using. thats me anyhow.

Corwise -- time to order! Looks like Amy-0 is 'bringing it' again.

BATACs will soon be gone. Don't know what's coming, but it involves the acronym: SS.

Id go with the CG. I find it hard to make a collectors edition a user and imo knives should be used. The extra thickness is kninda nice but for the extra cost i dont think its worth it. Also I dont like the tiger handle slabs heh. Just my opinion of course=)

Oh just wanted to add that I orders the cg with Magnum g10 and a tan blade.
