I am really thinking about trying to reshape my Norseman blade into something like a spanto or Drop-point shape .

I love the ergos, way it carries in pocket and the action . Have come to dislike the blade just from switching up my edc the Norseman blade it not as useful or effective for ME.

Knife is beat up been sharpened a bunch and resale on these is down so no point in selling it.

Would love to see some pictures if anyone has actually done this !

Good luck finding someone that will take folder’s blade for regind…
I’ve being looking for a knife maker to do it for months, simple hollow grind on Tanto Griptilian
‘All of them are busy with their own reblades or not working anymore on folders.
‘Contacted all of the well known regrinders, don’t want to mention names, they were very nice but didn’t have time for the regrind

The way I read into it, it looks like he's gonna have a go at it himself?

Could be wrong though..

Thanks for your input. I am really thinking about just doing it myself with belt sander and then probably an hour or so on the wicked edge

How beat up are we talking? If you feel confident enough to do a regrind yourself, I imagine your sharpening skills are at least somewhat decent? In any case, I'd agree you should just sell at a loss and find something new. There are plenty of similar enough profiles you can pick up, in a blade shape you like, for the money you'd get for a user Norseman. Better to have a brand new good quality knife than a janky expensive knife that will be beyond repair, and will force you to actually pay for that new knife anyway.

I agree and disagree. Anyways I am going to go for it this week sometime. Will post pics when it’s done . By no means do I expect it to look professionally done but it will be what I want (I hope) . Going to acid etch it to after but will post pics of before and after that as well to get a better look at the grind !

So it sounds like you plan to grind down the spine around the tip area - is that right?

If so I think you should be able to make something that looks great as long as you go slow.

I’d suggest doing some drawings too before you get started so you don’t accidentally grind off too much.

If you plan to grind the edge and leave the spine profile intact you’ll have a much harder time imo.

Remember to keep a bucket of water next to your belt sander to keep the blade nice and cool, and definitely post pics!

The blade is a little small for my tastes without the extra material, but it really does look good! I’ve never even considered a Norseman because I think the factory bladeshape is so ridiculous.

I have thought about this several times as well, whether it would be doable. You pulled it off! That’s a Norseman I would buy.
