I'm looking specific info for spring assist (flip)

About a decade ago I was looking to buy a push button flip style knife and a military coworker told me that she didn't think it was legal in our state and ever since I kind of just moved on without ever looking into it.
From what I can find online this is the only thing I see: "14-269.6. Possession and sale of spring-loaded projectile knives prohibited"
I'm not too familiar with the nomenclature so does spring assisted flip style knives fall under projectile or is that only mean OTF?

That law is talking about ballistic knives, not auto or spring assist. Ballistic knives launch the blade through the air as a projectile via a spring.

Autos are legal to own, sell and openly carry in North Carolina but they’re not legal to conceal carry. Don’t know if the same rules apply to spring assist. You may have to check with a lawyer on that.

Wait, it just dawned on me. Ballistic knives... like in call of duty. I didn't even know that was a real thing.
So for it to be legal you have to wear it on a belt clip or somewhere visible on your person?

Something like that. If you have a shirt with a breast pocket, that should help with making sure it’s visible and not concealed.
