Solar flare yesterday. Could be good viewing for aurora borealis tonight.:)

As long as it doesn't interfere with the Marlins whupping New York's butt I guess it's ok. I can see the stadium lights (Pro-Player) about 5 miles away, but no Northern lights.:D ;)

The aurora has been active for the past two weeks. Of course all you southerners and those with entirely too much light pollution wouldn't notice...:p

Can't wait to see how it will effect the bands. (radio bands that is)

We've been clouded in all day and so far tonight, but according to a couple of aurora websites my wife belongs to, the effect will actually last a total of 4-6 days. It can't possibly be cloudy for the next week, can it?

Knock on wood:eek:

Back in summer 98 I had the luck to experience polar light in the Denali NP. It was a gorgeous and nearly mysterious night. I have to see this some time again.
Since this hollyday I´m hooked to the North

These storms should make it possible to see the lights in the "middle" lattitudes for the next couple of days, so if we get a clear nights, we may get lucky.:)

On a clear cool night in 1961, on a Friday night as I was leaving home to go play a high school football game, I saw the Northern Lights in Central Alabama. Never before or since.
