Heads up! The NWKC fall show will be Oct. 5-6th at the Western Washinton Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Wa. This will be our largest show yet. All things sharp and lots of customs and makers available. There will be makers materials as well as forging and grinding demos, sharpening, and a rope cutting contest.
Start saving and planning now. There are a few tables available, email me if you have any questions. Be there!
Check out the club website: www.nwkc.org/

Joss, I'm not a club officer and don't have access to the table holders list. My memory is feeble so I'd feel bad leaving out someone. Nevertheless, here are some guys who I'm 98% sure will be there: Todd Begh, Mark Boyer, Rodger Dole, Tom Ferry, Lonnie Hanson (Sunday only), Bob Lay, Garry Little, Will Stegner, and Nick Wheeler. Some others from recent shows whom I can't say for sure will be there: Peter Bromley, Curtis Childs, Steve Criswell, Dan Kendrick, Wendel Fox, and Peter Marzitelli. I've left out many because I know there will be more than 20 makers. Phil Boguszewski doesn't get a table but almost always is seen checking out the other makers.
There will also be a number of dealers and purveyors and I guarantee you'll see lots of "name" customs. Blade Magazine hall of fame collector Joe Drouin's table is worth the price of admission alone.
Just come, you won't be dissappointed.

Mike,

I'll see you there.

There's always lots to see. The show gets better and better each time I go. Expect to see some cool Timascus stuff :) I can't wait!

Mitch, Excellent!
Speaking of kool Timascus...at the last club meeting, Tom Ferry showed me his latest art folder in progress. It's got a carved damascus wharncliffe like blade and carved Timascus handles. Very organic and sensual looking. It's killer and it's not even heat-colored yet! Should be done by the show.
Bring money! :)

Tom's new timascus folder was sold before he finished it. He brought it by the house Sunday so I could take some pictures before shipping. I'll post the pictures later. You are right Mike, it is an amazing knife.

Chuck, Excellent!
Besides his major role in the developement of Timascus and having a knifemaker supply business, Chuck is also the official chaperon and moral guide to UW Mitch when Mitch ditches school to attend knife shows. :D

'cept in Vegas, aka Sin City, where no one could help me :) Hope to meet up with more forum folks at the show!

My only excuse for missing this thread is that I've been spending so much time getting ready for the show.

Another custom maker and friend of mine is coming all the way from Montana, Jon Christensen. He's a top notch fella and maker, hopefully he'll be helping out with the forging demo.

Hey Joss, I hope you can make it to check out that bowie I was forging the last time you were here. I used some of that satanite for clay and I'm pretty pumped with the results. I can bring your hammer up too.

Well folks, please please please come by and check it out. We're growing and getting better with each show!!!

Nick

I'll try to come over. Nick, I'll get in touch with you via e-mail or I'll call you reg. a couple things. How are the salt pots coming together?

JD

Nick, Congratulations, that's an impressive award you earned from an elite group of peers. I especially like the Spanish notch and the slanted, fluted guard. It's a really clean looking fighter, wish I could have handled it.
What are you going to bring to the show?

Hi Fellas-

Thanks a lot Mike, it was definitely a nice feather in the cap :)

Joss, the salt pots have been put on hold while getting ready for this show. I have most all the components, just have to put it all together.

As far as knives, I should have a couple small utility knives, a few hunter/utilities, a damascus dagger, a 1084 bowie, a damascus fighter, and probably an integral damascus boot knife just for show.

I'm excited, I think it's going to be a lot of fun!!! :D

Nick

Hey guys,
I don't get on here too much, but this show should be pretty good. I went to the one in the spring and was wildly suprised at the variety and the quality. And since I know of a couple of California makers and Oregon makers that are going to be there, this one should be even better.
AND IT'S THIS WEEKEND!!! I can't hardly wait, even though I just got back from Blade West... do I have any room left on my credit cards???
