I was curious if anyone could supply some photos of the following knives along side one another:
Northwoods Fremont Jack
" Hawthorne (clip and wharncliffe)
" Norfolk (regular and whittler)

You can also toss in anything else (other companies welcomed) you would suggest in the $100-150 range. Primarily 1-3 blades, would like a sheepsfoot/wharncliffe as one at least, prefer carbon steel and I prefer natural material for scales, but its not mandatory.

Thank you in advance,
Bill

Do a YouTube search. Derrick has videos of all of them up. Fremont Jack is my favorite.

Thanks for the suggestion and pic.

Does anyone have any knives they would suggest? I was thinking gec #68 or #53 3 blade(s), #61? There are soo many to choose from that I'm not having it too easy...

I'm going to be using it near daily for light cardboard during the day, but looking for a classic looking whittler, or something that will work well for said task.
Locking blade is fine, though not mandatory.

As far as the Hawthornes and the Freemonts, those I just like the look of. Which is why I was thinking the Norfolk Whittler might get me in a Northwoods looks dept, while keeping my blade options open. I am just unsure as to the main blade length compared to the others

???

Well, for the Norfolk, I don't have one but its 3 1/4" closed and made by GEC. I believe, based on my experiences with GEC's #33 which is 3 3/8" closed, you're looking at a max length of 2 1/2" main blade, tip to bolster. The #53 you mention is almost an inch longer and probably twice as heavy. I don't have comparison shots of all those but here are a few I hope help. There are a couple Northwoods Norfolk threads, here is the first and largest one http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1111810-Northwoods-Norfolk-has-landed!?

This pic is of pen knives I have/had with a straight edged main blade sorted by largest closed at the top. There's the GEC #62, Case/Bose Norfolk, GEC #61, and Case SBJ. I believe the Northwoods Norfolk will be in between the #61 and SBJ based on closed length but with a blade length closer to the #62. I haven't carried the #62 but I have 3 #61 users. I would carry this one as a "dirty knife" in the office that I would open packages and stuff with. I carried a second larger single blade knife that I would cut food with if I needed to.

Here are the #66, #81, #82, and #53. The #68 should be similar to the #66 but with a straight handle instead of serpentine. Of these, my favorites are the larger (but narrower feeling) #53 and #82.

And here are some wharncliffe trappers. The Hawthorn isn't pictured but its based on the GEC #48 which the top knife is. Followed by the #74, Case/Bose Wharncliffe trapper, and a Case Mini Wharncliffe Trapper. The #48 is my favorite pattern from GEC. I like the feel of the Case Mini next but the #48 is pretty much the only one I carry. At 3 7/8" closed, it isn't too big for me but still gives me main blades just over 3 inches long. To be fair, I tend to carry the jacks more than the other #48s.

Other knives to keep an eye out for would be the Queen/Dan Burke Barlow. It has a shorter wharncliffe secondary. They sold out years ago though. I'm also a fan of the Queen #26 Medium Stockman at 3 3/8" closed. Smaller and narrower than the #66 above but plenty large for any office chores. Both of these are in D2.
