Thanks everybody, I'm not as expert as many of you, but to me, on both my Northwoods, the walk and talk is excellent (the blades dont slam shut like a bear trap but snap solidly and confidently). One blade on one of my Northwoods to difficult to open, but not a nail breaker.
Northwoods has a large stash of old sambar they cut, which is used by Queen to assemble the knives. I know a Queen D2 issue is initial sharpness (or dullness) but mine have been sharp (maybe not scary sharp) out of the box.
As far as I'm concerned, they are really nice knives, solidly built, and reasonably priced (especially for D2 and beautiful stag). I have the stag ones to stare at (I may get some jigged bone users someday), but I think the stag ones would make excellent users.
I think if one were in the Northwoods in Wisconsin or Michigan, maybe fishing for walleye, Northern pike, or muskie, I cant see how you could do better or prettier.
