Are there any knives out there comparable to Northwoods Knives that are within a decent price range? I have several Case knives so any other manufacturer other than them?

Thanks for all responses!!!

Fixed or folder? I'm not sure who makes the Noorthwoods folders for, in effect, Bark River. Queen? Back in the Ol' Dave Shirley days Northwoods used Schatt&Morgan frames (Queen)

Northwoods knife designs are made by other manufacturers, namely GEC, Queen, etc... You can look to those companies for comparable knives.

Northwoods is a brand name used by Knives Ship Free. The Fremont is made by Great Eastern Cutlery. It built on the #79 frame.

Not to sound like a smart a**, but if you want a knife that is like a Northwoods, why not just buy a Northwoods?

^^Î was going to say that. GEC would make the next best bet as Northwoods are manufactured by them.

Anytime some says that its because you do come off as a smarta$$....the reason is budget if you would have read my entire post and weren't too quick to be a dick

Not being a wise guy but why not save up for the knife you really want? The serious answer to your original question is that no one makes a copy of the Fremont that I know of. If they did for a substantially lower price it would lack the quality of build and materials that GEC puts into the Northwoods line.

I apologize. I did not know what you meant by "decent" price range. That means different things to different people. Have a nice day.

One reason the Freemont Jack is so expensive is because of the exotic handle materials. Looking at the website now, it appears that the only models in stock are mammoth ivory, whihc you would expect to cost more.

For less than half the price of a mammoth Freemont, you can get a really nice Great Eastern knife in a more common material - synthetic, various woods, or bone.
