I'm seeing the Northwoods Peanut and Mini-Moose folders and am intrigued by these. Does anyone have one of these? Would appreciate any commentary on them :)

I just picked up a Northwoods Peanut and, except for some plainish stag on the reverse side (which I was aware of and for which it was priced accordingly), it is flawless.

I have the peanut. It is one of my favorite peanuts (yes I have a few). The Stag is really nice, the blades are really nice shape. Fit and finish is great, being D2 it is harder to get a super sharp edge, but cuts great. Steven

Both are made by Queen. Both are good. For my .02 worth, the Mini-Moose is the way to go. The blades are ground by Bark River and are super sharp. It is elegant as all get out. One of my favorites. :)

Derrick,

It appears that Sambar Stag (on the Peanut) is the only cover available right now... Do you anticipate other materials coming online in the future (jigged bone preferably or wood)?

Thanks!

We don't have any scheduled. These are new-old stock from Ol' Dave. So they were made years ago.

Are the Northwoods Peanuts nickel-silver bolsters/shield and brass liners?

Thanks to all for your help :)

I have used mini moose for almost a year now, it's top shelf, holds an edge, and disappears in the pocket.
Respectfully, Chance.

I have both. The peanut's F&F is not quite perfect and maybe I'm just not a big D2 fan. My Mini-Moose, on the other hand, is absolutely beautiful, one of my favorite knives! It's a perfect whittler. Very practical size and shape.

Interesting as my peanut was the best put together peanut I own. My Stag is better than the one above (at least in my eyes. Steven
