Norton grinding wheel info

I have a bunch of Norton grinding wheels 32a46 k5vbe. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they are used for and if they would be any good for knife sharpening ? They are all about 3" across and 1 1\2 2 and 2 1\2 inches thick. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated!

Aluminum oxide, 46 grit.
Never seen any that size.
I'm more familiar with sizes in the 5"+ diameter x 1/2"+ thick, like is used on bench grinders.
46 grit might be a little rough for knife blades.
