I'm interested in purchasing one of these Norton IM-313 Multistone sharpeners. I have used one many times, but never owned one. I've been happy with the edges it produces on my hunting and kitchen knives and they seem to be in alot of butcher shops. I can buy a new one for $135 with coarse and medium crystolon stones and a fine india stone. Any comments or experience with one from you all?

One of my absolute favorite stones is my 8"X 2" Norton India Combo. It is fine and coarse, and my 1095 blades LOVE it. The fine side will put a nice biting aggressive edge on that will still capable of shaving. Of course mine was just $11.99 at Smokey Mtn.

Becker, I have a large assortment of Norton stones and you are correct. The fine does what you say. On some steels the Norton's take alittle longer to put a good edge on but there good stones. Flat, smooth and fine offered in many assortments and they don't eat blades. I can see why Mr. Goddard said that. DM

dmt course, followed up with a sharpmaker is what i use. ive given away all other sharpening stones, and devises.
