Does anyone know anything about this Norwegian fighting knife?
kampkniv.JPG

From one source I have heard that it is a field knife made for the Norwegian air force, which I find a little strange since it is not a typical field knife shape.

From another source I have heard that it was made as a figthing knife for Stay Behind in Norway.

It looks very much like the M3, but the fingerguard is different, and it has no marks/stamps.

I've got a custom made fighter from a plant in Norway I believe. Looks like a basic bowie but with the scandi grind. Extremely well made too. Wish I had a right handed sheath to carry it in. keepm sharp

Do you have a picture?

I have a fighter for sale on the forums here that is Guild made in Bruseletto. Never seen another like it. But in the link to the article on Swedish fighting knives there is one about 2/3 down the page with clip point that is similar in design but the quality isn't as good as the one I have for sale. It is a stellar knife I'll say that. keepem sharp

The sheath looks like an early version for the H&K G3 bayonet. It has the NATO fittings, while the Swedish version has just a belt loop.
The knife looks like a M3 clone/derivate made in sweden Norway in 1960 something.

After WWII, the US gave away almost all of the M3's in storage. AFAIK, France received the most. My guess is that the Norwegians just copied the M3 to keep their inventory current in the supply system.

Many countries received M4's and Garand bayonets which gradually evolved into their own unique production. Scabbards usually showed the most changes.

The sheath is a regular M8 wood imitation, used on both the M3 and a lot of other knives and bayonets.

What do you guys think this can be worth?
