Love my ritter minigrip but the interface between the agressive pattern on the scales and the pocket clip is hard on my pants (I carry IWB)! How would one go about smothing that out a little? Will sandpaper work on noryl gtx and, if so, what grit would you start with? thanx

While most owners tell us they love the aggressiveness of the clip and handle interface since the knife stays put, a few, like yourself, have noted that it can be hard on the pant fabric. One wrote to tell us he did something similar to what you are asking about. He used the file on his Leatherman and indicated he was quite pleased with the result.

You don't need a particularly aggressive abrasive to take the points of the checkering off, I expect some 300-400 grit paper would do it. Better the go fine and slow than course and fast. Always easy to take more off, hard to put it back if you take too much off. :D Be careful that you do not damage the head of the Torx screw that holds the handle to the liner.

Disclaimer: I am obliged to mention that modifying the handle voids the warranty on the handle.

Thanks so much for replying Doug. You designed a great blade and I am more than happy owning the knife. Perhaps I need to look into a sheath of some sort and do away with the clip altogether because I do like the aggressiveness of the grip and would rather not void the handle warranty. I eagerly look forward to more of your work in the future.
