Thanks for the add to the forum, my name is Anthony from Texas. I Inherited an older 121 when my dad passed so I knew a little about them from searching years ago. Yesterday I was at an estate sale and saw a new 121 and while sifting through other knives found a 106 hunters axe. Prices seemed good so I grabbed them both $40 fro the 121 and $100 for the 106. When I got home I noticed the 121 was different that the one I already owned so looking around it seems its an older model since it just says BUCK USA. Tried to find out more on the 106 but information seems to be limited and most of what I could find were newer camp axe's. Was hoping some of you could help with the age of the 106 axe and maybe more on the 121 also

And here is the 121. I noticed this one has brown spacers and 1 more than the 121 I inherited that has 1 less spacer and they are black.

someone wil be along soon enough to give ya the info your lookin for.....

The spacers look to be red micarta, which Buck went to in late 1969. Those went on until late 1972, when the stamp changed to a 3 line. Anthony, welcome to the Buck forum.
I have that same model 106. It looks correct. That stamp started being used from 1967- mid to late 1972. You're lucky to get the box and sheath with it. DM

Thanks for the information, I guess its safe to assume they were probably purchased together

Maybe, as they are of the same era.
Your 121 is a saw buck less of a normal buy. But your 106 is normal, maybe 1 saw buck less.
A good find for a Buck collector. DM

David, I have that same 106 but it is a three line with the 106 in the middle. When did Buck go to the three line?
Mine also a minty in the box, but box and paper was lost in the flood.
Sheath took a beating after being under water for 6 days. Axe is fine, but cant call it minty any longer. :(

Welcome to the forum Anthony,
Nice score on both of those!!

Love that 106 with the Micarta handle. That version is my favorite. Would like that to match a 124 with black Micarta. Welcome to this forum, a lot to learn here, yet you seem to know already what's good.
