Hey all, 1st post long time lurker. I bought a cheapo little fixed blade tanto made by smith and Wesson about a decade ago when I was passing through a PX in Bagram.I ended up liking it,esp the size before I lost it. Now I'm sort of getting into knives and steel a little more now, I'd like a blade as similar to it as possible but maybe 440c or better and USA made if possible. Going to be a general purpose knife I'll leave in the truck toolbox to take on walks in the woods, general purpose etc Nothing crazy, just needs to be durable and not break the bank...I actually think I found the exact model I had for like 15 bucks on Amazon model SWHRT7T
but it says it's in 7Cr17MoV which I hear may not be too tough? I mean for 15 bucks how solid can it be? I'm looking for basically a similar knife of better quality. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! This is a great forum!(I tried google and all sorts of knife vendors online myself, figured I'd ask some enthusiasts if they've seen anything similar)TIA
