Not a Busse but a grail for me

Ever since I started shooting I've wanted a Luger. They don't pop up around here very often and I am hesitant to buy something like this from an auction site. A local gun shop posted a pic on their FB page showing a bunch used guns that took in over the weekend and I thought I spied a couple of Lugers in the mix. Picked this one up yesterday. It's a Mauser, manufactured in 1940. I haven't broken her down yet but all of the visible numbers are matching so I'm hopeful. I'm very excited about this pick up.

Congratulations. Very nice score of a piece of history.

Sweet! You really don't see Lugers popup much anymore, and if they do, the price will make you faint.

Congrats Jerry!!!

Congrats on the great Luger, I know how you feel about grails as i just got a Linebaugh 500 Maximum... one grail down, a laundry list to go. :D

Awesome Grail Jerry!

Lugers are incredible and too much fun to collect because they're one of those genres of firearms that could be $1000 or $6000 with just the presence or absence of a few markings!

Very cool. I've always wanted one too. Just wish I had grabbed some when they were cheap!

Nice! Congrats!!!! I too have always wanted a Luger.

I want to remember there was a short run of Lugers in the 90's, not sure who made them, but I've slept since then. :D

Jerry, VERY cool, thanks for sharing!:thumbup:

I could go for that! Too bad the market wasn't good for it......
I agree! Thanks for the link.

I too have wanted to try one; I guess I never had the money when I did occasionally see one years ago.

I just vaguely remember seeing surplus models advertised in gun magazines for very cheap prices when I was a kid back in the 1960s - how times have changed!

I was disappointed to see you selling off your busse. now I get it. a totally different kind of cool. great piece.

Stoeger made some very good quality Luger repros in the 90's, maybe thats what you are thinking of?

Man that's AWESOME. I have always wanted to pick up a luger just for some reason haven't yet. CONGRATS.
