Not a good week!

 Earlier this week I posted in the traditional of the year thread. And promptly lost the Case Bose teardrop that I had chosen. Tangled in a wad of keys, change and whatever jumbled in my pocket it fell out when I wasn't paying attention. So today I duplicated the same error. I lost a AG Russell jigged bone rancher, that I had specifically traveled to the AG Russell Store in Rogers Arkansas to pick out personally, the same way. That's it. GOING BIG or not at all I can't afford this again. My endura 4 or Tenacious in the hip pocket. No more traditionals for awhile. :(

I try not to carry keys or other items in the same pocket as a traditional. Sometimes I do, when the slipjoint is in a leather slip sheath. Sometimes two per pocket then.

I've lost a one off J. Oeser for up to a week at a time, more than once. That was a sick feeling.

If it is any consolation... I am currently missing a Spyderco Delica..... can't for the life of me find it.

I've lost a few clipped knives. One of buck crosslock used to jump ship on the regular. Must have lost ir 30+ times. Poor clip, not enough tension. Would walk up out of the pocket. Lost it I a snow storm and got it back later from a complete stranger....he caught up to me and said "I think I've seen you carry this before..." he found it in the snow.

What bothers me is that I have a Case slimline trapper that I carried for over 39 years working in all kinds of conditions, stuff in my pockets and never misplaced or lost it even temporarily. Must be getting senile or sumpthin...

That sucks OP!
I hate hate hate loosing stuff!
I’m down one knife this year also.
Still hopeful it’ll turn up though.

Thanks 4mer, but

The Case Bose teardrop was lost downtown making a quick stop to pick up a few items in a store or two I'm sure. No retrieving it. But the AG Russell I found an hour ago on the top shelf of my desk. Right where I laid it... ROFL... after slicing off a couple zip ties on a couple of new tools I bought early this afternoon. WHAT A RELIEF!

But still heartbroken over the teardrop. ☔

Glad you found your ag russell!

I make sure my pockets have that little inner pocket for non clip knives.

Ive also been thinking about getting a pocket organizer, those are pretty nice looking

That sucks for sure.

I have been carrying my main slipjoint of choice in a pocket organizer I made for probably 5 months now.
Before that it was mostly just loose in pocket with at most a Leatherman squirt in with it. During the summer I've got watch or cargo pockets for my other stuff and in the winter or fall watch shirt and jacket pockets for some of the other stuff.

Sorry for your loss. Whether using a tacky material slip or some other stabilizing method, I find it always necessary to secure a knife in an open pocket.

[/IMG] Anyone who has carried a knife in their pocket has lost one or will lose one and it really sucks. This works for me. The lanyard slips on the belt or pants belt loop. Sorry, I haven't figured out the picture posting yet.

I was going to say the same thing. I lost a 1973 case I loved because it was from my birth year. I carried it in my wallet pocket and the worst thing is it fell out while at work so one of my coworkers definitely picked it up and never said anything.

Since then I’ve carried a Gec in a leather pocket sheath and it’s never fallen out. Pocket sheaths are the way to go with a traditional.

Had a Buck 110 Hunter thru high school and almost thru a military career. Cut my way out many entanglements and opened many things with it. Had worked the handles down nice and it opened so way. Flew many places with until an overzealous MP at an airport noticed it at boarding and confiscated it. Never saw it again, but now I am getting into making folders which is why I joined this fine forum.
