After applying some magic with the belt sander, I finally got one of my knives (Spyderco Yojimbo) sharp enough to shave arm hair without touching my skin. My Bilton Khukuri and my Spyderco Calypso Jr. are almost that sharp.

If I can do it, anyone can. After a few more knives reaching that sharpness, I'll see if the Convex Mafia will make me a 'made' man.

Holy Depilitary Deeds, Batman!!

How did you learn to do this? My belt sander is arriving shortly...where do I learn the technique to employ? I wanna sharp blades too, thombrogan!

Bruise, while I assume you were joking, I find my arm hair very hard to shave. I can easily shave hair on my legs with most blades, but bringing them to arm hair sharpness is a whole different level. I can do it, but it takes significantly more work and effort.

regards, Keno

It was a joke, but it is sort of true. Shaving the really fine hairs on say the deltoid is difficult compared to leg hair. The blade just seems to glide off the hair. When I try to shave this stuff I have to use a fairly high angle. Maybe it's just me though.

Welcome.

We'll discuss your initiation later....

I suspect a lot of these Convex Mafia guys have as little arm/body hair as an Olympic swimmer...

What happens when you shave off all you got available? I'd hate to think what might happen to your dogs & cats.... No, I'm pretty sure I know.

I have almost as little hair as an Olympic swimmer to begin with. The hair on my arms is pretty fine, much finer than what little grows on my legs. My leg hair is much easier to shave than my arm hair.
I've had only a couple of knives sharp enough to barely shave my leg hair without touching my skin.:grumpy:
Who knows, maybe some of the newbies coming along have surpassed me.:D
A good thing. The student should always be able to best his teacher.:p

After 32 years on the planet, I've found that a razor works pretty well for shaving ...

A cheese grater works well on occasion, depending on how good your skin is.

No. I was just kidding.
I don't really shave my legs before I wear pantyhose.
I go to the beauty shop and have my legs waxed.
Oh NO!!!! :barf: I just got a visual of Ben Arown's legs being waxed! :barf: :grumpy:  :barf:

I probably could answer that, but you might be able to find me.

What would that have to do with me?

Dunno... I'm just making excuses for my knives not being able to do such things.
My arm hairs are barely visible.

If you're right handed, the arm hair on your left forearm is the first to go.

Then, probably the right edge of the calf.

Then, that cat that already sheds way too much...
