Hi guys,

This is what I have been doing while I am in limbo on setting up a shop. I really need to work on my soldering techniques, but since this was just the second time ever soldering, I can't complain. These are alot of fun, and very relaxing.

Those are some very nice flowers you created. I've been toying with the idea of making some for my wife, but have not yet gotten around to it.

Very cool flowers and Ill bet they took some time to create. Keep it up and post more pics.

Nice rose. My brother started to teach me how to make them a few years ago but we never got to the end of it. I have a strange flat looking rose. Yours are much better.

I also made some trolls the other day. A mate of mine turns the hat into a blade as letter openers.

I left mine as proper hats. I think it is a good tool for learning hammer control for the new guys. Not every thing is belting as hard as you can. A lot of fine control is also needed to hit where you mean to hit and the right amount of power/control. Thanks for posting the images.

Reg ELLERY,

Thanks for the kind comments. I have seen wizards made out of railroad spikes.

Here is a great tutorial for making roses. click here

I only used two five petal disks, and it still came out very nicely. I pean the copper to add texture, and mostly cold work the rose. I add some character when I heat color it.

Thanks for the great link Pam.

I will have to give it another go. Purhaps just before I want to buy something I will make a couple for my wife. She will see through it naturally but she will probably let me get away with it.

What ever gives me an excuse to start up the forge has to be good.
I gennerally use the time while the forg is getting up to operating temperature to make letter openers from 5/16 wire. I put an animal head on the end and a bit of a twist in the shaft. I sell them at the art gallery. A rose may be a seller aswell.

thank you
Reg
