I don't know a lot about knives, but I remember seeing SOG at the fancy mall knife store years ago and they always looked very good.

Recently, I've picked up a few on the cheap.

I have:
Seal Pup Elite
Blink
Magnadot (X2)

I guess I like cheap knives since I wouldn't be afraid to use them.

I like that little Blink too, it is the only one I've carried so far. It is fun to flick it open since it happens so fast.

Glad you're enjoying your knives.

SOG makes some very nice products, but they also make a few that have some issues. I think they catch more flak on these forums for those issues than they truly deserve, which may explain why it's a bit quiet in this subforum.

Personally, I don't care for everything they make, but most of the manual arc-lock folders I've handled have been very good and their fixed blades seem affordable and reliable. I've been pounding on a Seal Pup Elite since before I knew a damn thing about knives and it still does just fine.

I like a bunch of SOG's knives, both past and current. The SOG Revolver Hunter is one of my most used knives. These days, when I'm not working, I'm normally helping my mom with bottling, yard work or I'm scoring the internet for good knife deals. LOL! The Revolver Hunter is a great slicer, saw and wood carving knife. I made a wood spatula with it and my Buck 105 last Spring. It rides in my day pack, just waiting for an outdoor trip.

A Pentagon Elite II is my EDC when in the city. Used to carry a X-42 Auto Clip everywhere until I lost it this last spring. Got to find my Flash II or buy an Aegis to replace it. Sure do miss that Tanto blade. Maybe I'll have to save up some money and get a new SOG with the same style blade.

Scored a SOG Government last week, that could be waiting for me at the post office when it opens in 40 minutes. Or, it will be here tomorrow. Can't hardly wait to put it to use. A Government was my second SOG knife 11 to 12 years ago. Sold it to help pay some bills a few years back. Finally scored another one. :D

A SOG NW Ranger 2.0 Black TiNi is one of my favorite camp knives. It sees a bunch of kitchen use.

Maybe I need to start posting more pictures of my SOG's in use!?

Pix would be great!

I bought a Salute a year or so back, and liked it so much that I bought another for collecting purposes. Then came a Spec Elite I a few months ago at a price too good to pass up, and most recently a Seal Pup. My original plan was for the Salute to be my Monday-Friday EDC folder, but that has become more of a rotating role currently held by a Kershaw Vapor III, so the Salute hasn't seen much use. That said, I do consider it more of a fixed blade stand-in than the Kershaw.

I bought the Flash two,a,few months ago and it is with me everywhere I go. I've been on a search for a decently priced SEAL pup, next on my list of purchases. I can't afford some of the more expensive knives people post on this forum, maybe someday, but at the prices of the SOG, I am not so worried about using them. Quality you can afford.

I'll try to get pictures of a few of my SOG's later in the week.

Got my Government cleaned and sharpened. It's now probably the sharpest knife that I own. Yikes!!

glad i bought the recon gov when i did.
imho, the gov looked simply spectacular with a blued finish.

I've got a few and the ones I have I like and have no real issues with. The two that interest me the most are the old 80s leather covered Attache, these reminded me of the old leather covered knives I used to get the Old Man by when we stopped at the rest areas or truck stops we got when he was a trucker.

I'll have to see if I have any pics out maybe I'll just have to take some new ones.

ahhh, the Attache...

GIRLYmann posted that catalog page .... one of my major failures in life: not scoring a Trident. One of these days .....

One of my successes: the Tech II .... a spectacular work of art, and a superb tool for cutting stuff.

Cheers,

Carl
