Not a Lot of Butterfly Choices

I was talking to this guy that isn't a knife knut, but wants a nice, high end butterfly knife with black handles.

I figured, hell, this should be easy to find.

I looked and looked, and the only nice ones I could find at all were the all silver Benchmade offerings, the Bradley Mayhem, the Spyderfly, and the Cold Steel offerings (I know, F--- Cold Steal, but they make nice Butterfly knives).

He didn't like any of them. I guess he really wants it to have a black handle to match his gun and flashlight.

Am I missing any good brands? Help me out.

Also, please don't start going on about how he needs to get a custom and all that. I know it's all normal for us knife knuts, but a regular guy isn't going to make contact with a maker, wait twelve years, and then drop $600 dollars on a knife.

Thanks.

SWAT Advanced Tech "Tiger" balisong . . . if you can find one. It has black handles and a 5" blade. About $150. Very nice.

Microtech Blackfly or the upcoming BM-32 are the only ones that are going to be easy to get.

There were black handled BMs, but good luck getting them for a reasonable price.

He can get a knife kits' typhoon or tsunami for $70 and have the handles powdercoated black.

Well, I think everyone has pretty well covered it.

I would like to say that I have a Microtech and that I really like it. I like the light handles though, and some people don't. You will immediatly notice how much lighter the Microtech is than any of the steel or titanium hadled ones.

The aluminum handles on it also get pretty marred up where the steel latch bangs into the ends if you flip a lot too, which is a downside if you want the knife to stay looking really new, but doesn't actually effect the function.

Thanks. I showed him the Microtech Blackfly, and told him about the Morpho. I think I might have to get one of those Morphos when they become available. Those are great looking.
