Not able to use "Message" manipulation features. . . .

(i.e., bold, underline, font, font size, font colors, etc.) or smilies.


I've cleared cookies, several times, and my "User CP" settings have not been changed.


Software glitch or just me ?
 
Hmm ... does the text editor look the same as before? There are three different text editors here and sometimes people change their preference without meaning to, or maybe it's the Net Demons....

Go to your User Control Panel, Edit Options, scroll down to change your choice of Message Editor Interface, and click the Save Changes button.

The visual of text editor has not changed. I've been using the "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls." Even unable to edit previous posts.

I haven't made any changes to my preferences in monnnnnnnths.

Did earlier and did again (after your recommendation), but no change.


Must be "Net Demons." :(

If you're using the "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls" you click on an icon and a popup window appears for you to type in the text you want italicized or whatever. I bet that's not popping up, right? I think the Net Demons have told your popup blocker to forget Bladeforums is supposed to be in the trusted zone.

If you have any difficulty fixing that you can always resort to typing in the code yourself.

P.S. It's also possible the Net Demons have told your browser not to allow Bladeforums to use javascript, or borked javascript in general. No javascript, no popups.
 
Change your editing preferences, save and then log out of BF totally, close browser and then go back into BF. I once had the same problem. It cleared it up.

You're correct. . . . .it has never "popped up." But. . . . .this is the first time I'm not able to use the functions.

So, how do I tell my browser to allow BFC to use javascript, or borked javascript ? I've checked my javashit and it seems (to this computer retard) to be OK. :D
 
Go to tools, options, then click tab under content, you will see your java stuff plus options for blocked pop ups. Since I see you are using Mozilla.

Checked that early this morning. Everything that should be checked and exceptioned is checked and exceptioned. :D

Still no worky.



Edit: Using IE.
 
It mst be a Mozilla thing. As you can see above. . .and in this post. . . . .I can manipulate what needs manipulating when using IE. :jerkit:
 
A lot of other members use Mozilla and they're not complaining. You might try reinstalling it....
 
But I do not let Mozilla automatically install updates for me. Sometimes the updates are not ready for use yet. I usually wait a week or two to let them get the bugs out. My Mozilla is working fine, but have not updated in a while. Might need to get an older version.

Here's the capper. . . . . .two days ago. . . . .my "stuff" began working as it should. :eek:

My thoughts:

1. Exercising and Reexercising Net Demons works (it keeps them from peeing on the carpet)

2. The result of sticking pins in my Keith voodoo doll doesn't work, but it will make you feel good. :p

3. Installing a new me. . . . . .doesn't work.

4. Pecking out words. . . .with the toes. . . . .only works for Bastid !

ETA: I would also like to thank you'ens for the suggestions. . . .even though the recommendations didn't work. :p Don't quit your day jobs. :D
 
You do have a sense of humor! You know Cougar did say it was just you. Maybe he sent you a virus though the back door of the forums, just to get your goat. (Apologies to Gus) Glad it is working.:)
