My sister got me one of these Lord of the Rings strider elven knife repros.

I gotta say, it's pretty cool. Sure, it's 420 J2, but I'm not planning on using it. Instead, it comes with a wall plaque and is one of the prettiest knives I've ever seen. And light and well-balanced to boot!

I'm pretty pumped, and it has a blade, so I thought I'd share. If anybody's into LOtR and wants a nice wall hanger, I'd definately recommend this baby. :)

Thanks,

Nam

Nam,

Any idea about the tang? And what's the handle made out of ... looks like wood.

I loved the movies, and thought that knife looked pretty sweet.

Bamboo,

It's Full tang (they say, so at very least, it's pretty substantial). The handle is made of a beautifully finished oak.

And yeah, ms514, I got thinking about comparable HI's because this baby felt soo good but is not really a user. Rose is closest, but it's bigger.

I think this would be a good sort of design for the Kamis to try someday. A relatively lightweight blade with a similar profile and an overall length of 18-20. It would be to the rose what maybe the GS or Sirupati are to an AK. More of a fighter than a chopper. Something less beefy than the rose or bowie, yet still with the swept blade and aggressive bowie-like clip point. I'd buy a Kami version of this baby really quick indeed!

Yeah, that's great too. Man, HI should look into some of these concepts. 420 J2 w/ rat tail tang on that sword. Definately not a user.

Still very dangerous though. ;) It still has the ability to kill at least one person, maybe more.
And it would be a cryin damned shame too be killed with such a lousy yet beautiful piece of sh*t, ainnit? :p :D ;)
