I am really starting to dig the asymetrical edge, At first I wasn't so sure I would like it- just because it is different than anything I was using before.

So, I just took a look at the edge of my SFNO a little while ago and found it had a couple little rough spots in it, nothing real bad but also nothing a strop was going to get rid of. So I broke out the dmt sharpener and sharpened the flat grind at 25 degrees til I raised a wire and then just stropped the convex side. The edge is now smooth as silk and took a layer of skin off my thumb callous when I rechecked for a wire. And my arm looks like I am developing the mange (minus all that itching). Seems like it might even be sharper than when I first got it.

So, the question I'm getting around to ask in my longwinded way is this: what angle does the flat ground bevel come stock from the factory? Did I reprofile or just give the edge the sharpening it needed?

if you have a production sfno it's symmetrical v-ground as are all the new models,,, except satin jack tac might have a symmetrical convex grind.

Thanks voracious. I had read that somewhere here, I think idahoskunk said it in some thread or another. And I do need to get my eyes checked up but I could swear up and down that tis knife has a convex right side edge. A couple other people took a look at it and concurred. I think I might try and see if I can take a pic that captures the bevels well and post it here.

well hell, just disregard me. I obviously need glasses and less impressionable friends! :o :grumpy:

Thanks again for the info voracious.
