Hi all you knife lovers out there and normal entusiast. I bought myself the Spyderco PM2 Copper REX 45. Reason, I love my Military in Green G10, and I never tried the PM2, and I'm a fan of Patina and Copper. I know all the downsides, but I truly like it, if....The blade was centered and it would open and close like a dream, you all know what I mean, just holding the lock, and the blade swings on place. So, what can or should I do? If u tighten the Pivot, it gets centered, but all stuck. If I open the pivot a little, then it goes OK, but not as it should, and it's of centered. I can also open/adjust the stop-pinn, but I don't know if that's an good idea? It still not centered, but now it works perfectly. Should I just have it as I got it from the store, almost straight, and use it for some weeks, hoping it will get smoother(I guess it will, in the end, tearing on both the blade and washers. I don't really know, but does it smoothen the mechanism as it should, the right way? Some oil that is preferable? Should I open it and clean all, use some kind of oil on all parts, or different between the Pivot, washers and blade?. I don't like to open my knives, since I don't have good tools, I mean, real good, as to feel comfortable that they are perfect fit, strong and doesn't mess up the screws. Some already seems messed up a little for some reason. And another thing, is Titanium screws better to use and the original hardware? I don't think the Pivot, but the others? And would a lowride pocketclip that fits the other PM2 fit this REX45 Cu? Also if I should change hardware, maybe close the lanyard hole? As you know, it's little different inside. And last, is there anyone who do custom works on these, just adjusting and changing stuff, making it look more personal and better? This is my favourite knife, so I sure would like it perfect. I don't mind spending extra for a great custom work on it. It would be like a Semi-Custom then, and that's worth it for me.
Hope to hear some good tips and advices, maybe someone who does customising, and would work on it for me. I wish you all a great weekend.🤝

If you're not comfortable taking apart your knives, you definitely don't want to start tinkering with anything that has a compression lock but...

If the blade isn't centered, first you have to determine whether or not the centering issue is caused by a warp in the blade. The method I use is to take the knife apart, lay the blade on a table while holding the tang flat against the surface, then measure the distance from the surface to the tip of the blade. Flip the blade over and repeat, and see if the measurements are the same.

If it was a standard PM2 that had a straight blade with bad centering, you could open the blade, loosen all of the screws, press the blade firmly in the *same* direction it normally favors when closed, while tightening all of the screws. The Rex copper PM2 however, has monolithic copper scales with no liners, so that method probably won't work.

The copper PM2 is really more of a collector's item than a user model. If you want a copper PM2 to use, you would be better served by picking up any other model of PM2 and a set of Flytanium scales.

The copper PM2 uses the same pocket clip as any other PM2.
