Not crazy about the Conspirator

Well, I was correct - There was a Civivi Conspirator under the Christmas tree.

I am not crazy about it. I have one other Civivi (the Praxis) and it is a great knife. I rarely carry it because it has a deep carry clips and those drive me nuts. I am not sure if the Praxis is on bearings (if you know, please chime in). I am hoping it is because that would mean the "Tingy" sound is NOT because this is a bearing knife (and would mean I don't have to worry about this also being the case with my inbound Lucha).

There are really only 3 things I don't like about it:

(1) The for mentioned "Tingy" sound. It just has a cheap tin like "ping" to it. Does NOT sound like my Praxis. Maybe because it is a button lock? It is the only button lock I currently own and the only manual button lock I have EVER owned.

(2) The clip. I knew it came with a deep carry so I asked for the custom clip with it. It is not deep carry BUT it is really skinny and actually in the way of my grip. Almost to the point where I'm gonna put the DC clip back on it.

(3) The biggest issue! Folks reviewing it point out how "neutral" the handle is with no finger grooves at all. It IS. No matter your hand shape, it fits because it is just a rectangle. Unfortunately, there is nothing locking your hand on to the grip. If you pinch the blade with the index finger and thumb of your support hand then pull back with your strong hand... you can see it would be VERY easy to slip off this handle. Obviously, this only matters if you see a possibility of ever having to pull the knife out of something it has been thrust into but.... it is still a concern.

So far, this is one for the shelf.

I'm trying to picture all this, but I can't, cause there's no pics !

Hint ,hint . ;)
Aight, man, I will see what I can do. This is one site that I always had problems posting pix on (unless something has changed, I was a member LONG ago)

It's a sub $100 knife with slick handles and tiny factory clip. I'm not sure what you expected out of it.

Guys - My concerns might be non issues to y'all. We all have different needs and purposes. I'm not saying it is a bad knife. I just wanted to put that out there in case sum1 is looking for the same things as I am. If you're not, you might love it. And I swear I will try to get some pix up, just been wicked busy.

Side note - My Lucha has been delayed one day. Tracking said it had an "unreadable barcode". I'm actually nervous about it, I found a reviewer complaining about IT having that same "ping". Returning it shouldn't be an issue. The issue comes when I start looking at a Replicant to replace it 😁 It doesn't help that my wife is an enabler. I said I couldn't drop 4-5 bills on a knife and she was like "why not?" lol

I can hear what might loosely be described as a ping on mine if I press and hold the button lock and use an inertial opening. If I open it with the flipper tab, it just makes a normal click. The "ping" seems to come from the lock on inertial openings. Easy to thumb open as well, also with just a click.

The handle (mine is Ultem) is grippy enough and I have enough grip strength to stay firmly on the handle. It's an EDC type knife, not a combat blade so what more is needed?

My only complaint is that it's not made here. ;)
