so i was thinkin a 30" siru would be a pretty nice item lined up to other larger khuks ans swords. maybe some of the standard sized pieces as well for perspective, 17" maybe. break out the straw mat and marlboros.

lol :D  ....
my fiance is already sleeping on the bed sorry :)
maybe tomorrow... but im sure some one will beat me to it :p

i dont have a 30" siru... but i do have a 30" kobra and an 18" model.
the 30" kobra feels more sword like than khuk and i definitely wouldnt chop anything with it. it feels more suited for tameshigiri ;)

yeah, i figured maybe you got one since the khukri list thread. also thought about choppin with the kobra which is why i named the siru. not that i think i'll ever need a 30" siru. i read some reviews on it that say it's around 5lbs. that's a lotta gravy. still, a $6 tramontina bolo is a great chopping tool, shouldn't a kobra prove superior? guess i'll just have to beat one to death myself to find out. or you could do it.

From march of 2004. The 30" siru is an interesting blade.

thanks, it certainly is. might be cool to get the martial artists' take on 30" khuk vs 30" straight sword.

Not enough pics request?

Magnum, I'd like to see you wearing only a belt and a khukuri :P

mmm, on second tought, do I really want to see that?

Maybe Jimmy's fiance wearing only khukuris.

What was in my tea?

i'd get to editing that post mighty quick. don't go blamin the tea, it can't protect you.

Ya'll know about the Cove, right?

That's where images like that one belong.

They have to upgrade membership first. Only paid members can view or post in the Cove.

Of course, that doesn't belong here though.

First, I really asked myself why Nasty deleted a pic I got on another thread here on BFC.

I just went back to that other thread and saw that it has been deleted there too. So everything is fine with me :) Who say mods are not fair?

I'll share a bit...I view the forum with kids attending.

Some images...some language...some behaviors...are not exactly what I want to demonstrate to them.

I don't think that I as a moderator can use the ignore like you folks can, eh?

I have often wished that I could.

Hope this helps to explain a bit.

we totally understand nasty... no harm done :)
thank you for reminding us this is a family oriented forum :D
i think its totally awesome that children are being introduced to our hobby!!!
this great place for the future generation of knife hobbiest to learn

Thank you Jai...

It's not just knives they can learn from here, eh?
